Principal's Message

  • Coral Springs Middle School Community,

I am proud, thrilled, and thankful to be here to serve as the new principal of Coral Springs Middle School!  I am looking forward to getting to know all of you, here is a little bit about me.  From an early age, I had the ambition to become an educator.  As the daughter of a school guidance counselor and a nursing professor, the importance of education and the drive to be an ongoing learner was instilled in me.  After graduating with my teaching degree from Dominican University in New York in 2005, I came to Broward County Public Schools and became a math teacher at Nova Middle School, where my absolute love for teaching began, and obtained my master’s degree in Mathematics from Nova Southeastern University in 2008.  I began to assume various leadership roles and made the decision to continue my education with the hope of making an impact on students on a more global scale.  In 2015, I graduated with my Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University and was given the opportunity to become the assistant principal at Lauderdale Lakes Middle School (LLMS).   In 2018, I entered the Principal Preparation Program (PPP) and in 2019 I was proudly appointed the principal at LLMS and have served in that capacity for the past 4 years.

Growing up, not only did I love school, but I also loved sports.  As a two-sport collegiate athlete, I learned very important skills that I believe have played an essential role in making me the principal I am today.  Through sports I learned about teamwork, how to be a leader, the ability to manage my time, prioritize and organize, how to focus on a goal and see a plan through, to compete and ultimately win, but also how to lose and learn from mistakes.  Ultimately, playing sports is about working collaboratively and it may sound cliché, but I do believe that “it takes a village to raise a child”.  As the principal of Coral Springs Middle School, I will be committed to collaboration and communication, and it is my intention to work closely with the school staff, students, parents, and community members.  I would love to meet you! Schedule a meeting with me today through the following link: Book time with Jill P. Slesinski .  With all of us working as one team, I have no doubt that we will achieve our educational goals for our stallion scholars.

As principal, I will foster a learning environment that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion; a place where all students enjoy and feel safe coming to school and where staff is supported in their professional growth and development to give our stallion scholars a world class education.  Thank you for entrusting your child with us and for welcoming me to your school family.  I am excited for the 23-24 school year!

     Sincerely,

     Jill Slesinski, Principal
