  • Dear Wonderful Students, Parents, and Guardians,

Welcome back to an amazing new school year at Eagle Point Elementary! I hope this letter finds you brimming with excitement and ready for a year filled with endless possibilities and countless achievements. I am thrilled to welcome our new and returning students, parents, and staff members to our vibrant community. Together, we will embark on an incredible journey of growth, learning, and success.

At Eagle Point Elementary, we pride ourselves on being a Leader in Me school, where we instill the powerful 7 Habits into everything we do. As we begin the 2023-2024 school year, let's embrace these habits as our guiding principles and cultivate a positive and nurturing environment for all. Our students are leaders in their own right, and they possess the ability to make a profound impact on their lives and the lives of those around them.

Habit 1: Be Proactive - Take charge of your own learning and choices. Each day is a chance for you to make a difference, and every challenge is an opportunity for growth. Embrace your unique strengths and talents as you navigate this exciting journey.

Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind - Set goals, dream big, and envision your future. Together, we will empower you to create a clear vision of the remarkable individuals you aspire to become, ensuring that every step you take is purposeful and meaningful.

Habit 3: Put First Things First - Prioritize what truly matters and manage your time wisely. Discover the joy of balance and organization as you accomplish tasks, engage in meaningful activities, and invest time in building strong relationships.

Habit 4: Think Win-Win - Embrace collaboration, empathy, and understanding. Seek solutions that benefit everyone, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where each voice is valued and respected.

Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood - Listen attentively and seek to understand before making judgments. Cultivate effective communication skills and practice empathy, appreciating the diverse perspectives and experiences that enrich our community.

Habit 6: Synergize - Work together as a team, combining individual strengths to achieve remarkable outcomes. Celebrate the power of collaboration, creativity, and innovation as you embark on exciting projects and engage in cooperative learning experiences.

Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw - Take care of your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Remember to nurture your mind, body, and spirit, ensuring that you are equipped to face any challenge that comes your way with resilience and enthusiasm.

As we embrace these habits, I am confident that we will create an environment where each and every one of you can flourish, and where the bonds of our community grow even stronger. Our talented and dedicated team of educators is committed to providing you with an exceptional education, fostering a love for learning, and nurturing your unique talents and abilities.

Parents and guardians, you are integral partners in our shared mission to empower our students to become responsible and compassionate leaders. Your support, involvement, and engagement in your child's education will make a world of difference. Together, we will inspire our students to reach their full potential and create a brighter future for themselves and our world.

I am beyond excited to embark on this incredible journey with each and every one of you. As we unlock the doors to a new school year, let's fill our halls with laughter, joy, and a genuine thirst for knowledge. At Eagle Point, we are a family, and together we can achieve greatness.

Welcome back to a sensational school year!

    With warmest regards,

    Christy de Zayas, Principal
