Principal's Message

  • Dr. MLK is “Still on TARGET & Hitting the Mark”

“Celebrate what you’ve accomplished, but raise the bar a little higher each time you succeed.”

Photo of Principal Moreau Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Montessori Academy. While we know that this year is not starting the way any of us planned, we will have an amazing school year, especially once we are back on our lovely campus.

This year, our theme is “Dr. MLK is Still on TARGET & Hitting the Mark!” The focus will remain on our vision to continue to “Engage the entire school community in the pursuit of achieving reading proficiency in a nurturing learner-focused environment.” We cannot accomplish this without the support of all stakeholders! “We truly believe in working together to achieve excellence for all of our scholars.”

During these difficult times, there will be time spent on Social Emotional Learning (SEL), the Montessori Life Skills; kindness, self-care, and student voice.  This will be critically important, as our scholars’ voices have not been heard during this unprecedented time in our country.

Please join me on social media as we continue to share all the amazing happenings at Dr. MLK and celebrate our staff, our students and our school.  Our goal will be to provide you with a window into the daily life at Dr. MLK as we work to provide students with great learning experiences in a Montessori environment. I am eager to work with you to support your child(ren) throughout the year at Dr. MLK.   Please do not hesitate to email or call me should you need any assistance.  I invite you to contact me at mitshuca.moreau@browardschools.com or 754-322-6550.

I would like to continue to invite all of you to become active participants in your child's education by joining our School Advisory Council (SAC), PTA, or volunteering your time at one of our many events; when you are involved with your child's school, they understand the importance you place on their education.
