Welcome to a new and exciting school year at Dr. MLK Montessori Academy! As we come together once again, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible progress we made last year and share my immense pride in our students and staff. We believed in our scholars, worked tirelessly, and achieved remarkable results. Although we were just a few points shy of being rated a "B" school, our collective efforts and dedication have set a strong foundation for the future.

Our accomplishments are truly commendable. With 60% proficiency in math, 35% in English Language Arts (ELA), and 31% in science, we have demonstrated significant growth. Most notably, 45% of our 3rd graders achieved proficiency in ELA, the highest level of proficiency in this category we have ever seen. This was the first year that 3rd grade was evaluated separately in ELA, and their outstanding performance is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our teachers and staff.

As we look ahead to the 2024-2025 school year, we have much to be proud of and even more to strive for. Our theme for this year is "Going for the Gold," as we set our sights on achieving an "A" rating. This ambitious goal is within our reach, and I am confident that with your continued dedication to the school, we will make it a reality.

I am excited to embark on this journey with all of you. Together, we will continue to inspire, challenge, and support our students. Let's make this year unforgettable by going for the gold and achieving greatness in every aspect of our work.
