Robert Gibson, Principal
Dear Palmview Parents and Students,
As valuable members in our school family, we are honored to welcome you back to another new, but very different school year. We are also overjoyed that you have chosen Palmview again as your child’s school.
While this is the first time the District is opening schools remotely, we are very optimistic about what is in store for us this year as a school family. I assure you that we will work together to make this year a successful, engaging and positive learning experience for our students. Now knowing what worked and did not work in last year’s eLearning model, our faculty and staff is committed to go above and beyond to do our best for our boys and girls. We are united on one accord to make eLearning a high- quality teaching and learning product that you can proudly accept, support and appreciate. This will be accomplished through our commitment to sow seeds of compassion, patience, love, and nurture, knowing that whatever we sow, we will also reap.
The first step to success in the eLearning process is assisting your child in logging on to your child’s classroom Canvas course and access your child’s teacher Teams video conference channel. All of this information will be reviewed with you during our Virtual Open House that is scheduled to be conducted on Friday, August 14, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. Student material and computer pickup is scheduled for Monday, August 17th from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Additional steps necessary for success in eLearning include students logging in each day promptly by 8 a.m., dressing appropriately, and participating in learning. Students should also be provided appropriate work locations in the home where they can focus and where there is internet access. Communication is essential to eLearning. We will keep you informed through text messages, phone calls and from the District’s “Parent Link” communication system. Please make sure the office and your child’s teacher have your most current email and phone number.
Parents let’s persevere through this season together, and continue to believe, achieve, and succeed. Lastly and most importantly, let’s stay strong together, pray continually for the removal of the Corona Virus. I look forward by faith to the day that we physically return to school.
