    Greetings Gator Community!

On behalf of the entire faculty, staff, and student body of Henry D. Education Center (HDPEC), welcome to the 2022-2023 school year. I am excited about “Cruising into the New School Year” and I hope you are too!

Although the past year has been difficult, as a school we have made academic and social accomplishments that I am proud to share. Students participated in our first ever mock trial, created virtual nursery book readings, certified our first group of Water/Waste Management student interns, certified an inhouse security instructor, graduated 13 students with security license, and started the HD Perry broadcasting team. This is only the beginning! As a career and technical academy, we will continue to explore and create pathways that interest our students.

Our mission is to foster a learning environment that aligns the interests of students to college preparatory or career pathways in support of their post-secondary aspirations. As a career and technical academy, we will continue to afford students opportunities to accelerate and recover credits subsequently graduating with their cohort.  HDPEC’s commitment to teaching and learning has led to an increase in the number of graduates year to year.  I am certain that our wrap around services, social and emotional curriculum, individualized counseling, academic support, integration of extra-curricular activities and student clubs are reasons for our increases and successes.

Finally, I am looking forward to a productive school year encompassed with opportunities for our students to be great. I am here to serve you with excellence and great pride. “Let’s Get It! Let’s Go Gators!

    Educationally,

    Tracy Lockhart-Talley
