Hello Cypress Parents and Guardians,
It is with the greatest enthusiasm that I welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year at Cypress Elementary. It has been a pleasure serving the Cypress Elementary community, building strong relationships while working together for the betterment of our students. I look forward to continuing to lead our school community and ensuring relationships, grace and respect are priority.
We begin this year with a reminder that safety and the overall welfare of all stakeholders for a positive learning experience is of most importance. I want to assure you that we will continue to soar, elevate and enhance our academic excellence because at Cypress, we are setting the stage for success!
For returning families, I look forward to seeing you all and continuing our academic and social- emotional growth together, as a Cypress community. For families new to Cypress, I am excited to meet you and your child, and know that we are all here to support your child in transitioning to our amazing school. Our staff and school community are all committed to providing the best educational experience for your child, regardless of the circumstance. I ask that you let us know how we can help!
I am very happy to announce that Cypress Elementary rose to the occasion and is now a “C” rated school and we are super proud of the work that takes place each day. Every day at Cypress we are committed to excellence and preparing your child for the global society. Research has identified many 21st century skills that our students need to be successful in life. Some of these skills include critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, problem-solving, and accountability.
We are excited to build on our work in language acquisition and literacy with a focus on strengthening our students’ foundational skills through collaborative conversations and targeted instruction. This instructional focus, along with continued implementation of character development will be sure to have a positive impact on your child’s educational experiences and growth!
We cannot do the work without you, parents, and each year we strive to strengthen our home-school partnership and encourage all of you to see it as a goal to become more engaged in our Cypress Elementary community. Attend a SAC (School Advisory Council) meeting, become a volunteer, or join us at a school event virtually, when available! We are so fortunate to have a wonderful parent community, and your support makes a HUGE difference. Thank you all for your commitment in helping make Cypress an amazing place for students to grow and learn!
The Cypress Elementary team is ready and back to assist you in any which way we can. We are eagerly preparing for the return of our students on the first day of school, Tuesday, August 16th. If you haven’t done so already, please take the time to visit our schools website at www.cypress.browadschools.com and follow us on twitter @CypressBCPS.
Have the best start Cypress! Here we go!
