Hello Parents and Students at STHS,
I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as your 9th Grade (last names F - M) & 11th Grade Guidance Counselor. I have been in the field of Education for fourteen years, of which seven of these years I have spent as a School Counselor for Broward County Public Schools. I have a deep passion for helping others and providing assistance when needed. Counseling allows me to serve as a listening ear and provide a non-judgmental, safe haven for all students. I believe that every student should be encouraged to strive for their personal best and I make it a point to be that encourager in their lives.
Although I did not start out as a high school counselor, my desire to help others led me to this profession. My initial career was in law enforcement. I was a Correctional Officer for Miami-Dade Corrections for eight years. While working in the penal system, I had the opportunity to work with a diverse population of adolescents whose lives might have taken a different path if the proper interventions were implemented. This exposure inspired me to pursue a career in Counseling. In 2008, I graduated from Barry University with a Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling followed by an Educational Specialist Degree in Mental Health Counseling.
As your school counselor, my goal is to assist ALL students with their academic, social and personal performance to be successful in high school; and to prepare them for life beyond high school.
As always, I am very interested in building relationships with both students and parents. Please feel free to contact me with any questions and concerns regarding your student, so we may address it effectively. I welcome your emails, phone calls, and face-to-face conferences.
I look forward to working with you during the 2022-23 school year!
Wolfpack Counselor,
Pristine Pulley
