A Message From Mr. Santos

  • Greetings,

On behalf of the second-grade teaching team, we would like to thank everyone who helped us install the TEA (Technology Empowerment Agriculture) Forest Garden at our school. The project serves as a model for instructing students on how to grow food sustainably in the community. All of you have been part of the development of the project from the beginning by sharing the surveys with your students and completing all the information required by the school district. These days were arduous and overwhelming, but once again I could see what an extraordinary family we are. We have a unique and special outdoor classroom that will provide memorable lessons for the students and a quiet place to observe nature in all its brilliance, especially this year when we are celebrating the theme of "Nature".

Thanks to the administrators, TEA Forest Garden Coordinators, custodial department, office staff, teachers, teacher assistants, school staff, parents, special guests, and students for setting up the garden in a family atmosphere full of motivation.

Last week the Environmental Science Instructional Facilitator, Mrs. Griffin was with us and shared with our students a hands-on lesson on soil types. Mrs. Griffin will continue to visit our school on a monthly basis, and we want her to visit the other grades in the future.

Thank you for your commitment and support.
