TEA Forest Garden News!
We have invited different people from the community such as Mrs. Griffin to our school. Together we have created a new Garden Club with the fifth-grade students at the school. With Mrs. Griffin, we have collected plants and fruits from our garden and participated in various hands-on and tasting food activities.
We have also shared our garden produce with the cafeteria ladies and prepared different recipes such as mint tea, papaya milkshakes, and salads. One of our students took cranberry hibiscus home and with her family prepared a salad, which we tasted in our classroom/cafeteria.
With the Bonnet House and Museum, we have learned wonders about the different types of soil, the layers of our garden, information about pollinators, and the importance of raising awareness about how to care for the animals and plants that cause pollination.
We were honored to welcome the Fort Lauderdale Garden Club to our garden. Visit our social media @browardstem, share your comments, and follow us at @noelmorgadosantos, and @harbordale.fp
