Meet the Counselors

  • School counselors promote and enhance achievement with an annual comprehensive school counseling plan that ensures that every student receives school counseling services. Credentialed school counselors provide comprehensive counseling programs that incorporate prevention and intervention with continuous academic, career, and personal/development activities that will prepare them for meaningful participation in a diverse, changing world. These activities include classroom guidance, small groups for skill mastery, individual counseling for students with specific needs, and a variety of other proactive and innovative ways to support student performance.

School counselors implement a program based on the National Standards for School Counseling Programs and the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model. They also provide resources to staff, students, families, and others to ensure that a family-friendly environment is established and ensure that students have access to a safe school climate necessary for academic and social/emotional growth.

Parents are always welcome to come in or call 754-323-4400 for assistance or advice.

  • Mrs. Cynthia Veronick, Grade 8 Counselor

Dear 8th Grade Students and Parents,

My role as a school counselor is to provide support to students in the areas of personal, social-emotional, and academic development. In order to provide appropriate and comprehensive support, I consult and collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, counseling colleagues, and outside agencies – on an as-needed basis. Identifying students’ personal, social-emotional, and academic needs, as well as providing any necessary interventions, is essential in removing barriers to learning and in helping students develop skills and behaviors critical for academic achievement. The knowledge, attitudes, and skills students acquire during the middle school years build the foundation for future success.

I am excited about working with you during the 2021-2022 school year. As we navigate through the last year of middle school, I will be adding important information to the 8th grade tab under Students on a regular basis; please check back regularly for updates.

I have an open-door policy and am available to meet with students throughout the school day. Students are asked to fill out a guidance request form and I will meet with him/her as soon as possible. Parents can contact me by calling 754-323-4420 or by email.

    Here’s to a successful 2021-2022 school year!
