Dear Country Hills Family!
Welcome to the 2019-2020 School Year! I hope this letter finds you relaxed and refreshed! It sure has been quiet here at the Hills! I can’t wait for our RISING STARS to return! Back to school time is always my favorite time of year! I love the excitement in the air…new students, new classes, school supplies and of course awaiting the arrival of our students and hearing all of their fun summer stories!
I want to take a moment and personally thank each one of you for a wonderful school year last year. You all made my first year at Country Hills amazing! I enjoyed getting to know all of you and especially your children. I look forward to continuing to build strong relationships as we work together this year. We know that when the home and the school work together in harmony, the children benefit, and that is always our goal!
I want to congratulate everyone on being an “A” school and increasing 37 points! Thank you to our teachers, students and families for working so hard to make sure our students SHINE!! This is not an easy feat. Our teachers and staff worked hard to design lessons to meet the rigor of our state standards while continuing to instill a love of learning and reading within our students. We definitely have the BEST Teachers and Staff in ALL of Broward County! We truly have STARS on our campus!
This year our theme is “We are Rising Stars!” Roll out the red carpet! Our 5th graders (last years’ 4th graders) developed this fantastic theme for us. We are all so entertained by the stars in Hollywood, but we want our students to know what it means to really be a star. Hard work, dedication, motivation and goal setting are just a few traits that it takes to be a star. As we continue our path of academic excellence, we will also be working to nurture the social and emotional needs of our students while continuing to focus on safety and security for all.
I am thrilled to spend the year together and make memories that last a lifetime! Please feel free to reach out at anytime if you have questions, comments or ideas you would like to share.
Ms. Nicole Ortega, Principal
