Principal's Message

  •  Principal Tara Zdanowicz Hello Parents, Students, and community partners of Challenger Elementary,

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your children to Challenger Elementary School, home of the “Rockets”, for the 2020-21 school year!  COVID-19 has definitely changed our world forever. We learned quickly how to implement an e-learning virtual classroom to close out the school year and were successful.  The summer has given us time to reflect on lessons learned, participate in training and explore digital tools that will enhance learning. Change can be a good thing!

As we welcome you back this school year, I wanted to touch base with you on a few important things. First and foremost, be assured we will do our very best to maintain a sense of normalcy and calm at school despite the model that is selected. I am sure our students have many questions, and we will do our best to care for them academically and, most importantly, emotionally. We appreciate you choosing Challenger to educate and nurture your child. We are honored to have this opportunity to make this year a unique and valuable experience.

Challenger Elementary is extremely fortunate because we are known as more than a school.  We are a family of teachers, students, staff, parents and community members who comprise a group of people working closely together with the same vision in mind - a quality education for our children.

We are proud to be an "A" school.  Our teachers are the very best in guiding students to achieve their goals.  When teachers and parents work together, students will benefit.  Having sound instruction and parental accountability keeps students on the right track to achieve their academic goals.

    I am here for you.

    Go Rockets!
