Mr Broomfield's Message
PRINCIPAL ALFRED L. BROOMFIELD II
Dear Mustang Community,
It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year. It is an absolute honor and privilege to continue to serve as Principal of this amazing school and community. I look forward to another exciting school year, full of excitement, life changing experiences and student engagement. McArthur is known for its rich history, lasting traditions, and a sense of enormous pride. As mentioned at our freshmen invasion, I am excited to collaborate with such an involved community of parents and stakeholders to provide our scholars the very best high school educational experience possible.
As I enter my 18th year in education, I understand all too well, it has increasingly gotten more and more challenging. I am looking to collaborate with our community and parents, to provide our scholars a real world 21st century learning experience. Here at McArthur High School, we will continue to provide our scholars rigorous college preparatory strategies that prepare our scholars for college; and experiential learning opportunities to ensure they are prepared for life after high school.
Over the summer, our staff have worked extremely hard preparing their curriculums; and the campus environment for an exciting year of teaching and learning. The success and accomplishments of the school last year, are something to truly celebrate. Our teachers prepared our scholars to make tremendous gains on our Math and Social Studies end of course exams. We ended the year with an overall graduation rate of 98%, in addition to graduating 42 AICE Cambridge scholars out of 44. These individuals have qualified for the highest level of bright futures.
Once again, I am extremely excited about continuing as Principal of McArthur High School. I look forward to getting to know each and every one of our incoming Mustangs; and supporting them in all that they do within the school and community. I challenge each of our Mustangs to get involved and be an active member of your school by supporting athletics, clubs, JROTC, performing arts, as well as engaging in volunteer opportunities. I look forward to being actively engaged and visible within the school and community. Until we meet again, I want you to always remember “a Mustang continues to strive to be the best, and never settles for less; because anything else is unacceptable. Failure is Not an option. With everything we do as Mustangs, we strive for Excellence, No Exceptions, No Excuses! Welcome to McArthur High School, where “It is always a Great day to be a Mustang!”
Alfred L. Broomfield II, Principal
