School Improvement Plan (SIP)

  • A School Improvement Plan (SIP) containing specific objectives and action steps for achieving Florida's educational goals is required for all schools. The SAC has the primary responsibility for monitoring the implementation of the annual SIP. The SIP must be approved by the School Board.

MISSION

  • The mission of Norcrest Elementary School is to serve the students, staff, and community by :
    Instilling the love of learning, challenging students to achieve higher expectations, and preparing students to be college and career ready

School History

    • Norcrest Elementary opened in December 1957.
    • Our school became Accredited and obtained AIN Membership in December 1962.
    • An International Day event was held in 1985.
    • Our 30th Anniversary event: “Return to Norcrest” was held in December 1987.
    • In 1995, our school received the Little Red Schoolhouse Award for the Portfolio Savvy program.
    • Our 40th Anniversary festivities were held in December 1997.
    • An Arbor Day event was held in 2005.
    • December 2007 was our 50th Anniversary.
    • The Sensory Garden opened in 2011.
