• Child Development

• Health, Safety & Nutrition

• Child Abuse & Neglect

• Rules & Regulations of Child Care

• Behavior & Observation of Children

• Eligible to go to NOVA University for certification tests

• Encouraged to begin working with young children during the summer

Prerequisite: Satisfactory Attendance, Teacher Approval and Early Childhood
Education I.
Corequisite: Early Childhood Education III
Note: Early Childhood II & III are offered in a 2-hour block. Students must
provide their own transportation. Meets graduation requirements for Fine/
Practical Arts. BF/Gold Seal only

               Students:

    Intern in local elementary and preschools gaining experience with young children

• Internship is 4 days per week working alongside experienced teachers

• 5th day of week spent in class

• Gives hands on experience with children

• Eligible for 6 college credits from Broward College (BC)

• ECE 3 – Honors Credit

• Begin Professional Portfolio

• Medical Exam necessary to participate

• Opened to students with a B average or higher in ECE II & III

•  Continued Internship

•  Complete Professional Portfolio

•  Eligible for National Technical Honor Society (if met requirements)

•  ECE 4 - Honors Credit

•  Opportunities:

  • Gold Seal Scholarship

  • Florida Teaching Certification (ECPC)

  • National Teaching Certification (CDA)
