    Dear Parents/Guardians:

On behalf of the staff at Village Elementary, I am happy to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to a dynamic new school year! We enter the 2022-2023 school year committed to the concept of teamwork to make a difference in the lives of our scholars. YOU are also a part of that team and our strong partnership with you is extremely important. Your guidance and support of your child’s education will go a long way to help make our scholars lifelong learners.

We are asking for your commitment to partner with us as we raise the bar and set high expectations for all our scholars to reach beyond to greater achievement. We are also excited to continue our “House System” which supports our Positive Behavior Intervention System by creating a positive atmosphere while working to establish, the climate for increased scholar achievement. Look for details coming soon and listen as your child comes home talking about our “House Meetings”!!

Another exciting new offering will be our in-school clubs for students in Grades 3-5. These clubs are designed to give students exposure to extra-curricular activities to build character, and responsibility, and enrich their experiences outside of academics. Be on the lookout for more details coming soon!

Please consider joining our school volunteer program and our PTA as our students can greatly benefit from your involvement and contributions to the school’s programs and its operations. We seek volunteers to help us with the following activities:

    1) Reading with children who need extra help

    2) Working on “pre-reading” skills with scholars (letters, sounds, sight words, etc.)

    3) Assistance at school-wide events (Field Days, Field Trips, School Advisory Council, Panther Den student store, PTA activities, etc.)

Again, we welcome you to a new school year and to Village Elementary—a place alive with much energy, much enthusiasm, and a high standard of excellence! The wonderful Village staff and I feel privileged to be a part of your child’s educational experience.

    Educationally,

    Wanda E. Haynes, Principal
