William Dandy Middle School Wildcats!
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!
Let me be the first to extend a Gigantic Wildcat Welcome to our incoming 6th graders! Are you ready? 7th Graders, this is your year to shine bright, and 8th Graders: my leaders, you have a glorious journey to complete.
The theme for the 2024-2025 school year is William Dandy Middle School: Standing On Business. WDMS has a rich history of producing scholars, athletes, business owners, and creatives. We accomplished this goal by building on strong foundations. In 2024-2025, the Wildcats are standing on those strong foundations and getting down to business. Using engaging instructional strategies, high expectations, and a robust extra-curricular roster, we will show our scholars how to strategically Stand on Business.
As we move into this new year, WDMS is transitioning to a 4x4 block schedule where each of our blocks are 85 minutes. We will have Blue Days (Periods 1-4) and Gold Days (Periods 5-8) Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Positive Behavior (PBIS) are still at the foundation of our academic plans. Increasing our rigor this year, we have added School-wide Writing and Literacy Plans to prepare our students to create and attain the highest academic and career goals.
Please be on the look-out for various Title 1 Parent Nights where our Wildcats will display their hard work, and parents can add a few key strategies to assist their Wildcats.
If you have not already done so, please consider coming to at least one of our parent meetings this year: PTA, SAC and/or SAF. We welcome you! These parent groups are the perfect place to learn about all of our wonderful activities that we plan for our Wildcats as well as to include your input on how we can continue to make William Dandy MS excel.
We will need every parent, family member, student, staff and community resource to help us reach our goals this year. We can not do it alone.
WDMS Wildcats…Ready…Set…Let’s GO!
As always, Your Forever Proud Principal,
Ms. Winston-Davis
