School Advisory Council (SAC)

A School Advisory Council looks at aspects of their school as suggested by the priorities and develops a written School Improvement Plan (SIP) in alignment with the District's Strategic Plan.
- SAC is mandated by State Statute 1001.452 and SBBC Policy 1403.
- All meetings are open to the public and aligned to Sunshine Law.
- A majority (more than half) of SAC members are not employed by Broward County Public Schools.
- SAC must be representative of the school’s population and must include similar proportionate percentages from different ethnic groups.

- Voice your opinions and suggestions.
- Have an active role in making decisions that will best serve the students.
- Setting goals and making plans to achieve those academic goals.

ARTICLE I. NAME
The name of this Council shall be the Hollywood Park ES School Advisory Council.ARTICLE II. PURPOSE
The primary objectives of the School Advisory Council (SAC) shall be to help identify needs and recommend programs of action. Through a community-wide commitment, the team will foster a positive learning environment, which sets high expectations and meets the diverse needs of the student body.
School Improvement Plan (SIP)

A School Improvement Plan (SIP) containing specific objectives and action steps for achieving Florida's educational goals is required for all schools. The SAC has the primary responsibility for monitoring the implementation of the annual SIP. The SIP must be approved by the School Board.
