Virginia Shuman Young Montessori

  • The Montessori environment has many benefits for your child.

The Montessori environment is known for fostering independence and individually paced learning. The Montessori Method also encourages empathy, exploration, and joy in lifelong learning. Students are encouraged to ask questions and make connections to the world around them. Montessori students become enthusiastic, confident, self-directed learners. They are more confident, able to work collaboratively, and think critically.

Our multi-age classrooms help to create a close, caring community. Older students are often used as role models and mentors for the younger students. This helps reinforce their learning as well as building their confidence.

Your child will be challenged using the rigorous B.E.S.T. standards. Research has shown that students in Montessori schools perform as well or better in social and academic situations than their non-Montessori peers.
