Dear Sheridan Technical High School Families,
Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) will begin providing supplemental instruction in Reproductive Health and Disease Prevention, including instruction in HIV/AIDS, its symptoms, development, treatment, and prevention as a health education component, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
BCPS respects the rights of parents and their role in their children's education. As such, parents can exempt their child from attending this course of instruction.
The opt-out form has been sent home with your child. Only if you wish for your child to be excused from attending this course, should you complete the form and return it to the school no later than Friday, May 23, 2025.
Any child exempted from the lessons will be provided with alternative assignments during the Reproductive Health and Disease Prevention lessons.
We appreciate your interest and cooperation in the implementation of our comprehensive health education program.
If you have any questions, please contact the front office.
