University of Florida scholarship opportunity
Greetings from Gainesville!
The University of Florida Honors Program is accepting applications for the Stamps Scholarship and the John V. Lombardi Scholarship. These Signature Merit Awards provide a financial stipend of $3000 per fall and spring semester for eight semesters, plus four fully funded summer enrichment experiences – a value of over $40,000 over four years.
I am writing you today to urge you to promote these prestigious scholarships to your graduating seniors. The Honors Program is looking for creative, forward-thinking individuals with an interest in global issues and a willingness to learn and study outside of their comfort zone. Scholars prepare to make a positive difference in their academic and professional communities by interacting with students and faculty members from a variety of academic disciplines throughout their undergraduate careers.
To be eligible for these programs, students must be nominated by high school administrators or counselors. High schools may nominate up to two students to be reviewed for these prestigious scholarships. The application consists of three parts:
· The Nomination Form must be completed by a school counselor or administrator.
· The Recommendation Form may be completed by an instructor, coach, counselor, administrator, or other person who knows the student well.
· Nominated students must also submit the Student Application to be considered for an award.
Deadline for all materials: 9 am ET Monday, November 13, 2023
Links to Application Instructions, Nomination Form, and Recommendation Form are available here.
Note that application to the University of Florida and the Honors Program is a separate process and that deadline is November 1. Transcripts and standardized test scores are reviewed by the Office of Admissions and are not required as part of the scholarship application.
If you would like to be considered for this award please email Dr. Taylor (kristina.taylor@browardschools.com) ASAP
