Principal's Message
-
I am Jimmy Arrojo, the Proud Principal of Western High School, an A-Rated school. It is a great honor to be starting my 10th year serving the students and community of this great school.
At Western High School, we create an environment where students are safe and feel that they are a part of a community. We build trust with our students every day by promoting and demonstrating respect, dignity, and honesty and always acting with integrity.
We partner with our students so that they may reach their highest potential. We believe that every student brings his or her own special talent or skill set to Western High School and we want to build on those areas. By taking the most rigorous courses available and becoming part of something bigger than the individual, we can foster a sense of accomplishment and pride and prepare our students for the world after high school.
Western High School has received an “A” grade for 11 of the last 12 years. We have also been recognized as one of America’s Most Challenging High Schools by the Washington Post and one of the Best High Schools in America by US News and World Report. We have a lot to be proud of.
Our students thrive in our National Champion Debate and STEM programs, our highly-regarded AP Capstone program and Cambridge International programs, and our dozens of sports, clubs, and activities. Our Wildcats also volunteer thousands of service hours helping others and leading the way in feeding the community through our Harvest Drive.
Remember to always make value-based decisions, treat everyone with respect and dignity and act with integrity every time the opportunity presents itself – you will never regret it.
With the support of our great community and the dedication of our remarkable teachers, I know we are going to have another great year.
GO WILDCATS!
