Mr. Corey D Wilson, Intern Principal 8th Grade Administrator
Greetings DBMS Jr. Bucks and Parents: As I enter my 4th year here at DBMS and my 24th year serving in Broward County Public Schools. I am most proud of the resilience that our students have shown during my tenure as an educator. The 20/21 school year will be a pivotal year for our Deerfield Beach Middle School (DBMS) Jr. Bucks. Our Remote Learning Instructional Plans are like no other in the history of modern schooling, and our plans have been put in place to safeguard our most precious resource, you the students, our Jr. Bucks. Our team at DBMS is committed to supporting you, Jr. Buck during this Remote Learning period. Our plans are simple, you reach-out, via phone calls, emails, or text we’re there with support. If we notice that you are not focused, not logging in daily, off the deadline/completion schedule, not participating, were going to reach out to you Jr. Buck. So, DBMS Families Remote Learning is an authentic learning platform for our students, we will have to be good communicators, strong, focused, and present to ensure that our Jr. Bucks experience a safe and healthy remote start to this new school year. Our collective efforts will be positioned to provide much needed daily support and balance. DBMS is a great environment to improve and enhance a Jr. Bucks education. I am here to both serve and SUPPORT our students with the consistency, respect, and quality that they deserve. As always, I will do my best to ensure that DBMS is an inclusive IB school.
Sincerely,
Mr. Corey D. Wilson, Intern Principal

Mrs. Karen Karras, Assistant Principal 7th Grade Administrator
We are all stakeholders in our children, value education, and work towards maximizing its benefits. In this unsettling pandemic, each person has a unique valued opinion on how to maximize the benefits of distance learning. However, we are united in the ultimate goal of keeping students safe – that includes viral transmission. I pledge to work tirelessly to maximize the effectiveness of Deerfield Beach Middle’s online digital education efforts. This entails engaging, motivating and actively monitoring the efforts of staff, teachers, and students. Parents are a vital component of the active community for educating students. I enlist your aid in actively involving yourself in digital learning this school year. Your student’s online curriculum should be active, engaging, and effectively connect with the material. Digital learning is not distinct from classroom instruction. The teachers will slice content into easily digestible blocks, add interactivity, ensure accessibility, give personalized feedback when required, and measure student success with suitable analytics. Feel free to contact me anytime our digital efforts fail to comply with the classroom experience.
Sincerely,
Karen Karras, Assistant Principal 7th Grade Administrator

Welcome back to the 2020-2021 school year. I am excited to be with the Deerfield Beach Middle School family as the 6th-grade Assistant Principal. As our new Jr. Bucks transition to 6th grade, I look forward to building new and lasting relationships with students and parents. I would like each student to receive the best education while preparing to be college and career ready. I am dedicated to ensuring that students feel supported throughout their educational journey either within the school building or a virtual classroom. My objective is to work with all stakeholders to create a positive learning environment where students can reflect on their emotional growth and gain the skills needed to achieve their academic goals. “Intelligence plus character, that is the goal of true education.” – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.Thank you, Michele Matias, Assistant Principal 6th Grade Administrator
