  • Mr. Carlton Jackson - 8th Grade Administrator

    Jackson 2022

It is with great enthusiasm that I write this letter of introduction as the new Assistant Principal of Deerfield Beach Middle School. I am incredibly grateful and excited to join the DBMS Jr. Buck Family! I look forward to working in partnership with Dr. Fulton and the staff - to continue the work of advocating for and providing all students and families with an educational experience where values and diversity are celebrated.

Prior to becoming an Assistant Principal at DBMS, I served as an English and Social Studies Teacher for 3 years at Deerfield Beach Middle School.  I was also an Assistant Principal in Palm Beach. I enjoy the challenges of education, working with teachers, parents, and students.

Our Jr. Bucks Parental support continues to be a vital component in the academic achievement of all our students. We would like to continue to work on ensuring all students can achieve their maximum potential. We encourage you to remain actively involved in your child’s education as we strive to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs through the curriculum and instruction here at our school.

    Best wishes,

    Mr. Jackson

  • Mrs. Leslie Pickett, Assistant Principal - 7th Grade Administrator

    Hello Jr. Buck family,

It is my honor to serve this community as your 7th grade Assistant Principal.  I am delighted to welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year!  Deerfield Beach Middle is a school that is steeped in tradition and school pride, and we will continue to work together to support our students, staff, parents, and community members in a safe and engaging learning environment for all.   In addition, we will ensure that we maintain the high expectations inherent in a whole school IB program and continue to challenge our learners with relevant coursework that helps them grow both academically and emotionally.  Our mission is to continually challenge our students to be the best they can be and provide a multitude of resources and opportunities to help them reach their goals, develop into confident leaders, and succeed as productive members of society.

A long-standing culture exists here, and I am very proud to be surrounded by a fantastic group of students, parents, staff, and community members.

    Sincerely,

Leslie Pickett, Assistant Principal 7th Grade Administrator

  • Mrs. Michele Matias, Assistant Principal - 6th Grade Administrator

    Mrs. Matias Dear Jr. Bucks,

Welcome back to the 2020-2021 school year.  I am excited to be with the Deerfield Beach Middle School family as the 6th-grade Assistant Principal.  As our new Jr. Bucks transition to 6th grade, I look forward to building new and lasting relationships with students and parents.  I would like each student to receive the best education while preparing to be college and career ready.   I am dedicated to ensuring that students feel supported throughout their educational journey either within the school building or a virtual classroom.  My objective is to work with all stakeholders to create a positive learning environment where students can reflect on their emotional growth and gain the skills needed to achieve their academic goals.   “Intelligence plus character, that is the goal of true education.” – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Thank you, Michele Matias, Assistant Principal 6th Grade Administrator
