Entering his 3rd year as the Director of Athletics and Student Activities at Nova High School, Jason Hively has a clear vision for its respective programs. The vision is one that focuses on the advancement of all athletes and students and the day-to-day needs that will help them succeed in the classroom, in competition, and most importantly in the “Game of Life”.

Coach Hively will have an open-door policy and an open line of communication where students and athletes feel comfortable expressing their needs to be successful while here at Nova High School. He will be honest and upfront, fair, and expect discipline with a specific set of expectations for all its athletic teams and student activity groups. Bringing energy every day with a tireless work ethic, Hively will use an enthusiastic approach to work with its students, athletes, coaches, faculty and staff to function as ONE TEAM.

His vision is clear to the upgrading and maintaining of facilities that positions Nova High School Athletics for growth and continued success. Hively will look to make the most of a budget they have to work with financially while looking to develop partnerships with the community and alumni to assist in its growth. His vision is for future success while building an all-around winning program that enhances the overall Nova High School experience for its athletes and students. Hively says ‘I truly feel this could be one of the overall best schools in the country!”

Overseeing 20 athletic teams and 15 student activity groups, Hively will look to encourage its teams and activity groups to take ownership with a motto of “buying in and family”. The goal is to promote working together as one so that that our athletic teams and activity groups can partake in positive educational and life experiences.

Hively has been working in the Broward County School System for 19 years as both an educator and coach. He is also currently the Head Coach of the Nova High School Girls Basketball Program which is one of the top-rated programs in the State of Florida. He has been with the Lady Titans Basketball program going on his 18th year
