  • I'm Every Woman Fashion Show


    Angel Watching Over Me hosted a fashion show in the name of diversity and entrepreneurship. This community event was to support the self-esteem of our young ladies as well as to support their entrepreneurial spirit.


  • Chess Tournament


    Awesome Olsen held a chess tournament for students of the school. A great time was had by all. There were prizes and food. Take a look at the event and our winners.

  • Angel Watching Over Me Bouquet Making


    AWOM came and helped show the club members how to make bouquets with fresh flowers and materials to share and bring home. The members had a great time.


  • VEIJV Competition


    The VEIJV Academy of Business students competed at Nova Southeastern University with the Book-A-Lunchbag product. They were able to sell over $6,000 of products at the event. This is a culminating project displaying everything the students have learned this year.

  • Junior Achievement World


    Awesome Olsen iCAN Magnet academy students were given an opportunity to take part in Junior Achievement World where students were put in a simulated community showing them the importance of personal finance and budgeting.


  • VEX Robotics Tower Takeover Tournament


    Our VEX Robotics students took part in the Tower Takeover event. VEX students code and build their own robots to accomplish physical tasks.

  • Chinese New Year Celebration


    Awesome Olsen iCAN Magnet Academy hosted a parade for the Chinese New Year Celebration. The Chinese class, as well as Latinos in Action, hosted the school and the entire community. We partnered with South Broward High School to celebrate the diverse culture of the school.


  • Science Olympiad Regionals


    Our Science Olympiad team took 3rd place in the Science Olympiad Regional competition covering the tristate area. This is a very special victory for our students and they deserve our congratulations.


  • 2nd Annual Youth Climate Summit


    The Global Scholars club attended the 2nd Annual Youth Climate Summit and learned about the effects of climate on South Florida.

  • Angel Watching Over Me Holiday Gift Giveaway


    AWOM delivered a holiday gift to each one of its members in a holiday luncheon celebration. We cannot thank Ms. Sara enough!


  • PBL Symposium


    Students took on the role of teachers and instructed their peers in this schoolwide event. Students trained themselves on reading standards and prepared a lesson of engagement to share with their peers.

  • The Special Olympics Visits Awesome Olsen Middle School


    The Special Olympics - Basketball Skills program came to Awesome Olsen for our SVE students to participate. Students were able to compete and participate in drills and challenges. Take a look below to see some of the activities they were involved in.

  • Awesome Olsen Symphonic Band Plays at Airport


    Our symphonic band played a great performance at Hollywood-Fort Lauderdale International Airport for travelers in the terminal during the holiday season.

  • Awesome Olsen Symphonic and Beginning Band Winter Concert


    Our two bands held a second concert for the year in which both the beginning and symphonic bands were able to perform for parents and the community.

  • Angel Watching Over Me Thanksgiving Meal Donation


    With AWOM over 300 Thanksgiving Meals were donated to the community through her organization. This was a great community outreach event that involved the students and the community.

  • Panthers STEM Day


    The Florida Panthers hosted students from across the county to engage in a STEM-based presentation and demonstrations. Awesome Olsen Students had a great day of learning and engagement.

  • Junior Achievement Business Speakers


    In collaboration with our partner Junior Achievement, Awesome Olsen hosted three guest speakers from the community a restaurant owner, a finance professional, and a real estate appraiser.

  • Awesome Olsen Magnet Open House


    A Magnet Open House was held to inform the community about the exceptional programs Awesome Olsen has to offer. Students led stations and gave guided tours to prospective parents and students.

  • BC STEM Symposium


    Our Awesome Olsen students were given a tour of Broward College-North campus while also participating in an event for the Academy of Education to help support young educators get inspired about STEM careers and teaching a new generation of students.

  • MEEC (Marine & Environmental Education Center)


    Students from the Academy of Robotics & Marine Science visited the MEEC where they learned about the importance of protecting sea turtles and keeping light pollution to a minimum to help protect their nests, as well as keep the beaches clean.


  • Awesome Olsen Symphonic Band Fall Concert.


    The Awesome Olsen Symphonic Band held a Fall concert. They played several selections and gave a demonstration on how striving for perfection in music is what helps create the proper sound for an entire band. Some students were in costume for the spirit of Halloween. See the video below and take a look at some photos from the event.


  • Plasma Field Trip


    A field trip based on the physical properties of plasma hosted Awesome Olsen students to take part.


  • Awesome Olsen's Band Plays at South Broward

    The Awesome Olsen band played with South Broward High's band at their game against Cooper City. Former Olsen student's at South Broward were very excited to see their alma mater playing with them.

    Students participated in the Anti-Defamation League's "No Place for Hate" seminar in which they were trained in supporting each other as students in an emotionally supportive and multicultural way
