If you have school spirit, if you want to help make Sheridan Tech a fun place to come every day – then the Student Government Association is the place for you! Members of SGA help create monthly events that entertain and educate the students of Sheridan Tech. Activities like Spirit Week, Kindness Committees, Bake Sales, and community projects, maybe even a school dance – they are all up to you. So, join SGA and make the fun happen! SGA meetings are in room 106 on second and fourth Thursdays of the month.

Broward County Association of Student Councils (BCASC) Convention 2022-23
Congratulations to our very own SGA who came home with several wins last week during the Broward County Association of Student Councils (BCASC) Convention. The awards included are the gold medallion overall, second place in Community Service, second place in Citizenship Development, and first place in Environmental Concerns. A special shout out to Emilia F. for putting STHS on the SGA map!

Color Wars 2021
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 4, 2021: COLOR WARS DAY (DAY 5 OF SPIRIT WEEK)
12:30 – Cheerleaders and the football team congregate on the field
12:40 – Students come out on the field and cheerleaders will greet them
During this time the MCs, Luvenson and Emilia, will hype up the crowd and start chants that will be created before the event. A script will also be written for the MCs to follow loosely and will be sent to Mrs. Sanchez.
12:50 - Grand entrance by teams
12:55 - M.C Introduces themselves to the crowd and officially announces the game and teams
GRADES WILL BE DIVIDED ON THE BLEACHERS
One set of bleachers will have team blue with the students in their class colors
The other set of bleachers will have team red with the students in their class colors
TEAM BLUE: Seniors & Sophomores
TEAM RED: Juniors & Freshman
1:00 - Pledge of Allegiance
1:00 - Football game starts
1:20 – Half- time starts
1:25 – Half-time ends
1:26 – 1:45 Football game resumes
1:40 – Official end time (Announce the winners)
1:45 - Dismissal
Here are some details about what we wanted to happen during, before, and after the event:
- Cheerleaders will stand along the sidewalk and create a path to welcome students before the game.
- Dismiss students by grade/color

Congratulations to the winners of the Most Beautiful Banner from the 2022 Cultural Festival!

Global Recycling Day Poster Contest 2021
The Student Government Association hosted a poster contest to celebrate Global Recycling Day. The contest will be from March 3 -14, 2021. Posters should illustrate why it is important to recycle. People who enter a poster into the contest can receive service hours. Show us what recycling means to you!!

Memorial Hospital Alzheimer Patient Donations 2022
The Student Government Association had another collection drive to collect new stuffed animals for Alzheimer's patients. They were donated to Memorial HospitalAlzheimer patients.

Sheridan Tech Tumblers - Fund Raising 2021
SGA is selling new and exclusive Sheridan tech tumblers. All proceeds go to SGA to help pay for student participation in the state and county conventions. Prices range from $18 to $22. Only a limited amount of these custom tumblers wares available, so be sure to get yours while supplies last.

Soctober for Women In Distress 2022
SGA was collecting sock donations for Women in Distress to support people in need in the community. Socks must be NEW. Donations were collected for Socktober in the main hallway or in the cafeteria.
