Mu Alpha Theta (ΜΑΘ) is the United States mathematics honor society for high school and two-year college students. In June 2015, it served over 108,000 student members in over 2200 chapters in the United States and in 20 foreign countries. Its main goals are to inspire keen interest in mathematics, develop strong scholarship in the subject, and promote the enjoyment of mathematics in high school and two-year college students. The name is rough transliteration of math into Greek (Mu Alpha Theta)
In our school, we will be getting ready for math competitions statewide, and region wide. Students will practice complex math questions that require math knowledge including algebra 2/pre-calculus. They will compete in school, and the selected team will represent our school in the competitions.
The club meets every second and fourth Tuesday with Ms. K.

Gingerbread House Contest 2021
Cooperating with 19 of Sheridan Tech's fantastic clubs, Student Government Association (SGA) organized our first Gingerbread House Contest on Thursday, December 2, 2021. Each club was provided with a basic gingerbread house kit and had from 1:50 to 3:05 pm to get creative and craftsy. The results were amazing! From a courthouse with a deceased Santa outlined in chalk (Debate Club), to a "Marvel"ously wrecked house (Geek Out), the kids had some festive fun while building their creations. Our judges (Ms. Daniel, Ms. Hart, Mr. Khan, Ms. Smoot) had a rough time deciding on only three winners. Everyone had such a wonderful time that SGA has decided to add this event to our annual traditions!
