Drama District Competition Davie 2023

On Saturday, December 2, 2023 Mrs. Charles, Mr. Fisher, Ms. Williams, and Ms. Friedman brought 40 extremely talented students to represent Drama Troupe 8356 at the Drama District Competition at Nova University School, where they showed them what it meant to be part of the Wolfpack. After a hard day of competition, every student walked away with either an Excellent or Superior rating but, even greater than a trophy, a new sense of accomplishment. Not only did 14 pieces receive an Excellent rating and 21 received a Superior rating but they also claimed an Honorable mention in Solo Acting (Keana R.) and a Critic's Choice spot for Costume Design (Keith M.). The Troupe would like to send a special shoutout to Mrs. Novotny and Mr. Bajana, who came out and spent the whole day supporting the students and helping where needed. These young Thespians did their thing! We are so very proud of them. Next stop, State Competition!! GO TROUPE 8356...GO WOLVES!!

Drama District Competition Tampa 2023

  • Troupe 8356 brought six performance/tech pieces to Tampa for the drama state competition and, for the first time in Sheridan history, all six pieces received a superior rating.

Our troupe also received Top Honors, the highest ranking for the state of Florida, in costume design (Abdulbasit A.) and top honors for our original pantomime (Moses C.E., Richanna L., Maya D., Richella D., Nayade J.L., Faniela J.)! • Night of Performances 2023

STHS hosted a Night of Performances, May 5, 2023. Performances featured the drama club, debate, and spoken word.

    Night of Performance

It’s a wrap. This Friday, Sheridan Tech’s Dramatic and Visual Arts Departments put on our first-ever Night of Performances to a packed house of over 200 families, friends, graduates, staff, and faculty. Students from Art Club, Spoken Word, Debate, and Drama came together to create a show which showcased their many talents and shared their love for the arts with the world. It was AMAZING. This production would not have been possible without the help of so many people spanning all three campuses. Thank you to our Director, Ms. Daniel, Assistant Director Ms. Sanchez, and all of the administration for their continued support. Our bookkeepers, Mrs. Wright, and Mr. Monpremier ensured that we had everything in place financially. The Construction and Energy department provided materials that helped us bring our stage to life. Our poster prints from the college gave us the means to publicize and advertise our night. The technology department gave our backstage crew the ability to prepare and provide sound equipment. Facilities ensured that our school looked beautiful to the public and prepared the cafeteria before and after the show, and the culinary department for the use of their equipment, which helped to make concessions a breeze. Everyone had a hand in making this dream a reality. It has been said that “The strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack”, and this pack has once again come together to make the impossible possible. We may not be on one campus, but we are indeed one family. Night of Performances was a night to remember. Here’s to continuing to showcase our phenomenal students and creating many more spectacular memories.
