  • Anthony Smith, Assistant Principal, Grade 9

Hi parents, guardians and friends of the Everglades family,

I have been an Assistant Principal at Everglades High School since April of 2006. My responsibilities include, but are not limited to, academic, safety, social concerns and any other matters that may have an impact on the day-to-day experiences of our students at Everglades High School. If there is a need for my assistance, please feel free to contact me any time.

  • Shadrack Henry, Intern Principal, Grade 10

    Gator Family,

I am honored to serve the students, parents, faculty and staff of the premier high school in Broward County: Everglades High School.

As a native South Floridian, I received my bachelor’s and graduate degree from Florida International University in Social Studies Education and Educational Leadership respectively.

I have been privileged to serve the Everglades High School Community for many years, first as a teacher, and now as an administrator.

My professional and life experiences have given me the knowledge and skills needed to ensure that all of our students are given the opportunity to obtain a world-class education and maximize their potential. I look forward to working with and for the Everglades High School Community as we continue to add to our school’s distinguished legacy.

  • Katarina Roman, Assistant Principal, Grade 11

Everglades High School Community. I am extremely excited to serve the EHS community as the 11th Grade Assistant Principal. I hold a B.A. in History and Global Studies from the State University of New York- Binghamton University, a M.S. in Social Studies Education from Syracuse University, and a M.Ed in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University.

I am a New York native and taught 7th-10th grade American History and World History for the New York City Department of Education. Since moving to Broward County, I have taught 10th grade Pre-AP and AP World History and have served as a Student Assessment Specialist.

I believe that college and career preparedness begins the moment our students step foot on the Swamp; therefore, I will foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that maintains high expectations for all learners. When stakeholders work together to support student learning, our community as a whole is strengthened.

  • Jondria Thompson, Assistant Principal, Grade 12

    Greetings,

I would like each student to receive the best education while preparing to be college and career-ready. I am dedicated to ensuring that students feel supported throughout their educational journey either within the school building or a virtual classroom. My objective is to work with all stakeholders to create a positive learning environment where students can reflect on their emotional growth and gain the skills needed to achieve their academic goals.

“Intelligence plus character, that is the goal of true education.” – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
