Mr. Sean Curran

Everglades Gator Community:

My name is Sean Curran and I am excited to be the new and proud Principal of Everglades High School. From the moment I arrived in The Swamp, I was amazed by the tradition of excellence and the sense of pride that permeates the student body, the staff and the Everglades community as a whole.

It is this existing culture and rich history that makes me so excited about joining the Gator family. I look forward to working in concert with all of our community partners to build on this tradition of excellence and will work tirelessly to ensure that Everglades continues to flourish.

I firmly believe in providing a safe and inclusive environment where all students have access to the tools needed to reach their highest potential. Everglades offers so many innovative programs, rigorous courses, diverse electives, student-centered clubs/activities and competitive athletic teams.

Although I am new to the Everglades High School community, I have over 17 years of experience educating students. Originally, I am from Buffalo, New York where I received my Bachelors in English Education from Canisius College and my Masters Degree in English Education from Buffalo State University. I also taught English for five years in Buffalo before moving to South Florida. For the last twelve years, I have been serving the Fort Lauderdale High School community as a teacher, literacy coach, magnet coordinator and Assistant Principal while obtaining my Educational Leadership Certification from Florida Atlantic University. While I am excited about becoming a Gator, the Everglades Community is also gaining three additional Gators: my wife Jill and my two daughters, Caroline and Chloe. My family and I look forward to meeting the entire Gator community at many of the events and activities.

As we conclude the 2021 - 2022 school year, I know there will be many great student accomplishments for us to celebrate. I cannot wait to join the entire Everglades community and do exactly that: celebrate the incredible accomplishments of our students and staff. If you see me at any of the events or out in the parent loop greeting the students, please do not hesitate to introduce yourself.

Thank you again and Go Gators!
