• Welcome to the Student Government Association Website!

As your sponsor for Student Government Association, I look forward to working with all of the students involved in SGA to make Attucks a great place to learn and grow. Some of you may not know what SGA is or what it does, so please read on to learn more!

    What is SGA?

The Student Government Association at Attucks Middle School is a student-led group representing the interest of all students in the decision-making process. SGA's elected student representatives and general assembly members work with teachers and administrators to positively impact the school culture and environment through events, activities, fundraising, and student representation at SAC & SAF meetings.

    Who can participate in SGA?

The Student Government Association is made up of two groups, the elected council, and the general assembly. While any current Attucks Middle School student can participate in SGA and voice their opinions through the general assembly, only elected representatives can vote on issues or bring matters to the SGA floor.

    Elected Representatives include:

    • President
    • Vice President
    • Treasurer
    • Secretary
    • Grade-Level Representatives, 3 per grade

The General Assembly is made up of all AMS students who sign up, come to the meetings, and participate in activities.

How can I become an elected representative?

In order to officially represent the student body of AMS, you must meet the following requirements:

    • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
    • Positive discipline record with no suspensions or excessive disciplinary actions
    • Be recommended by a faculty member through the SGA Representative Sponsorship Form
    • Attend all SGA Council and General Assembly Meetings
