SCHOOL NEWSLETTER
As we enter the Holiday season our staff will be putting more focus on reviewing and practicing skills that students were taught in the first nine weeks. However, we still have a lot more information for your scholar to learn. Please help by allowing your child to sit in a quiet area and read uninterrupted for at least 20 minutes every day. In addition, all students have access to iReady and can practice reading and math online for at least 15 minutes every day at home.
Our School Advisory Council (SAC) meets every month to review what we are doing to make learning better. Our School Advisory Forum (SAF) meets to discuss local and district parent concerns. SAC and SAF meet on the second Tuesday each month at 6 PM online. The link is accessible on our website at https://www.browardschools.com/markham. Our next meeting is December 8th, which is also our Magnet Showcase. We will have staff available to translate.
As always, “Thank you” to our parents and community for supporting our academic mission that every child succeeds. During the upcoming break please continue to encourage your child to read daily, eat healthy and get plenty of rest!
If you have additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call our main office at 754-322-6950. I am more than happy to assist you!
Happy Holidays!
Sincerely,
Shedrick Dukes, Ed.S. Principal
