The Board offers a variety of professional development programs to expand teachers' practices. A teacher may earn inservice credit for successfully completing professional development. This credit may be used to receive incentive (monetary) awards and/or for recertification credit.
Professional Development Website
New Teacher Academy, (NTA), is a program designed to provide skills to teachers new to the district. The Academy is comprised of three courses designed to meet learner outcomes identified by teachers and administrators as essential for the new teacher's success in the first semester of school. The training is usually offered prior to the beginning of the school year (August) and teachers are paid for attending.
ALTERNATIVE CERTIFICATION FOR EDUCATORS (ACE)
Alternative certification is offered through The Teaching and Leadership Center or the Human Resource Development Department. Contact these departments for more information.
