School Choice, School Board policy 5004.1, provides parents with the option to apply to a school (in grades Kindergarten through 12) other than their assigned school during an open application window.

Technical Issue Claiming Awarded Seats
The following message incorrectly appeared when attempting to claim an awarded seat in the Check Your Status webpage:
Webapp.browardschools.com says
This awarded seat to your child’s awarded school was NOT claimed by the deadline. To be placed into the waitpool, please send an email to schoolchoice@browardschools.comIf you experienced this issue, please try to claim the awarded seat again. This issue has been resolved.

Application Window Begins May 3, 2021, 8 a.m.
Phase II begins May 3, 2021, 8 a.m. – May 10, 2021.
No Need to Reapply
Families who applied during School Choice Phase I do not need to apply during School Choice Phase II, unless a magnet program or reassignment school change is desired.
