Statement from Superintendent Robert W. Runcie Regarding Deadly Attacks in Pennsylvania and Kentucky

“Broward County Public Schools stands united with communities across the nation as we mourn and honor the tragic loss of life at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and the loss of life at a Kroger grocery store in Kentucky. These senseless acts of violence serve as constant reminders about the need for our school communities to continue to provide educational programs designed to teach tolerance and understanding.

Attacks against people because of their race, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation are attacks against all people who share a common trait – humanity. Our District continues to respect and celebrate the diversity of our communities. We must stand together against hate.”
