Mrs. Andie Segal

Dear STHS Sophomores and Seniors,

Welcome back to what promises to be an outstanding year here at Sheridan! I hope you had a great summer and got all the rest and relaxation that you needed. It's great to have the wolf pack together again! Now that you've had a year to get used to the pace and rigor of our program, I look forward to watching you all soar! This year brings you the expected balance of enlightening core classes and exciting electives. Your Physical Education class is like no other in the county, including; Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP), bowling, ropes course, to name a few, and your tech class will expose you to the variety of programs that are available to your 11/12 grade school years.

As always, I’m charged with helping you balance rigorous academic and personal growth. I look forward to continuing to work with you on an individual basis, and seeing you during various grade level and classroom activities. I will support you in your effort to become as competitive as possible for your post-secondary plans, as well as give you the tools you need to become the best version of yourself possible.

For parents, I’m available to address any academic concerns as well as assist in bridging the gap in communication that often occurs at this stage of development. I understand the challenges of both being a teenager in today’s fast-paced world, and being the parent of a teenager.

I’ve been a high school guidance counselor for the past 15 years. Prior to that, I was a school social worker for Broward Schools. In addition to my career with the school system, I have a private psychotherapy practice where I work with a diverse population of children and adults. I served in the United States Peace Corps in Mali, West Africa for two years, where I learned invaluable lessons about being a productive member of a community. I’m a proud native Floridian and will always be part of the Gator Nation.

My door is always open to you. Feel free to contact me via email or by phone at (754) 321-7475.
