Zsalé Haghighat (first name meaning morning dew & last name meaning truth in Farsi), aka Miss Z learned of trade school education in Southern California High School via Coastline Regional Occupational Program where she explored three disciplines post a career assessment quiz and fell in love with Graphic Design. She has also thought of herself fortunate, learning early on what sparks her interest and increased her focus. She strongly believes life is journey and finds it interesting that her life has returned to a trade school, this time as faculty and is committed to using her years of experience to benefit the next generation.
Miss Z holds Bachelor of Arts Degrees from the Academy of Art University and the University of San Francisco. She is a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, Adobe Certified Expert, CompTIA IT Fundamentals Certified, Lean Six Sigma White Belt Certified & Certiport Proctor. She has also studied Teaching at the University of West Florida and holds a Broward County Teaching Certificate as a Commercial Arts Teacher. She believes that travel provides valuable experiences and is a seasoned world traveler (experiencing North & South Americas, Caribbean, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia). She has had a successful career and built many wonderful relationships working in Los Angeles, San Francisco and South Florida in; print, radio, broadcast, and multimedia. She is a mother to a Deerfield Beach International Baccalaureate High School Senior, enjoys fitness, yoga/meditation, creativity, music, brainstorming, and working as a team. She is also an Author of a multi-lingual children’s book Many Faces of Family which has been featured in Miami’s El Nuevo Herald (2010), and the Children’s Author’s Radio Show “50 Great Authors You Should Be Reading” (2011). However, the demanding schedules which go along with the fore mentioned are not ideal to parenting, so she’s retooled herself and joined Broward County Schools in 2009 as a Webmaster for seven schools. Collins Elementary, one of the school’s sites she has managed over the years, recognized her contributions at their 2013 awards ceremony.
She has been a faculty member of Sheridan Technical High since its inception 2014. She has also been the Sponsor of the Spoken Word Club 2014 – 2019 establishing partnerships with the Jason Taylor Foundation and performances at the annual Louder Than A Bomb poetry slam. Other positions Miss Z has held are; Tech Studies Teacher 2020, Game Simulation Teacher 2019, Certiport Proctor 2018, Emerging Tech Teacher 2014-18, and Webmaster 2009-14.
