    MISSION  

    The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.

    MEETING DATES: Every 2nd Wednesday of the month in the auditorium.

    PARTICIPATION: New and returning members must earn 20 club hours throughout the year. New members who meet the requirements will be officially inducted at the end of the year and seniors will receive an stole to wear at graduation. Members can earn these hours by attending meetings and participating in club events and school activities.

     

    DUES: Juniors pay $20 which includes the annual T- Shirt and Seniors pay $35 which include the annual T-shirt and stole for graduation

     

    EVENTS/ACTIVITIES

    Typical activities include: Quarterly Blood Drives, Yankee Candles Sales, Beach Clean Ups, After School Tutoring, In Jacob’s Shoes Donations, Becca’s Closet Donations, Angel Tree Donations.

     

    HONORS

    SENIOR STOLES: Students that have been inducted into NHS who hold a GPA of 3.0 or higher, have paid their dues/raised funds, and have met club requirements will have the opportunity to wear a stole at graduation.

     

    INDUCTION CEREMONY: New members who meet the club hours requirement will be officially inducted into the club in April/May of their first year. This is a formal event to which parents are invited and dessert will be served afterwards.

     

    CRITERIA FOR JOINING

    The student must…

    1. Have a weighted cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
    2. Submit a completed application to Ms. Webb in Room 1117
    3. Pay membership dues online
    4. Maintain a 3.0 weighted GPA
    5. Complete service hours
