Mr. Roberson plays a crucial role at Coral Springs High School as the Dean of Discipline, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment for all students. His primary responsibility is to enforce and uphold the Broward County Public School's (BCPS) Code of Student Conduct fairly and consistently.Purpose of Mr. Roberson's Role:- Maintaining School Discipline: Mr. Roberson's role is essential in maintaining discipline and order within the school community. By enforcing the BCPS Code of Student Conduct and applying consequences in line with the Discipline Matrix, he ensures that behavioral expectations are clear and adhered to by all students.
- Promoting Accountability: Students who require disciplinary action are directed to the Learning Lab to ensure students remain focused on their academic priorities. This structured environment aims to provide support and guidance while emphasizing accountability for their actions.
- Facilitating Academic Engagement: The Learning Lab serves as a dedicated space where students being disciplined can complete their assignments under supervision. This helps them stay on track academically despite disruptions caused by disciplinary incidents.
- Ensuring Compliance: As part of the Learning Lab protocol, students are expected to engage actively in their academic work. This fosters a sense of responsibility and encourages them to make productive use of their time during the disciplinary process.
- Cell Phone Policy: To minimize distractions and maximize focus on academic tasks, cell phones are not permitted in the Learning Lab. This rule ensures a productive learning environment and supports students in achieving their academic goals.
Mr. Roberson's role as the Dean of Discipline is instrumental in fostering a positive school climate where all students can learn and grow academically and behaviorally. By implementing and overseeing the Learning Lab process, he supports students in taking responsibility for their actions while maintaining their academic progress. This structured approach helps uphold the values of respect, responsibility, and academic excellence at Coral Springs High School.
