September 9,2020Future volleyball players,The county has given us direction for fall sports. There are many factors that are going into the decisions so please read the following carefully and with an open mind. Safety, as always, is our primary concern.Voluntary conditioning is set to begin on 9/21, if the virus numbers stay low. This Phase 1 has several key components, and because of our numbers, girls volleyball will be unable to participate. So, you should be continuing to work out on your own and be ready for tryouts. If all goes well with the phases, our target date is October 12 to begin. Players must have their physicals and paperwork completed in order to participate. Please see all info on this page.ANYONE interested in trying out and playing volleyball for this fall MUST EMAIL me as soon as possible.Jill.Smitherman@browardschools.comHello hopeful volleyball players,If you have not heard by now, the FHSAA approved the start date for fall sports of August 24th. This does however come with contingencies. Our county is still well above the positivity rate. We are still in the scenario where it is too dangerous. I have a coaches meeting on Monday night, the 17th.I hope to know more about the future of fall sports at that time, and either way will update on this website next week.Continue to be safe.Coach SmithermanHere is what you can do.
- Take care of your paperwork and get that out off the to do list.. (See below for more info on that).
- Take care of yourself! Stay safe. Do your part.
- Workout to get/ keep yourself in shape.
- Keep checking this page for announcements.
- *** Understand that things may change at any time.
I look very forward to physically seeing you all again and hope that it is sooner than later. Be well, and please reach out if you have any questions.
This is a workout plan for you for the next month. It is given to us by Alexa, our former trainer. She has put all instructions, videos, charts as well as her number for any questions.

Hello Future CCHS Volleybal Players,
During this unprecedented time, I am wishing for you and your families to be in good health.
As there are many questions regarding what is to happen next, let me give you some info.
We are not, I repeat, not allowed to be on campus. We are not allowed to have any organized practices. We are not supposed to meet in large groups, and we are to be following all the guidelines set forth by the CDC, the county and Cooper City High School.
What can you do? Train. Workout. Prepare. We need to be ready for when the season does commence. I will be ready for whenever we get the go ahead. Make sure you are as well, and remember to be safe as you train. I will be positng workouts that you are able to do at home. Please check back near the end of the week.
I will hopefully know more about a timeline in the next few weeks, and will let you know as soon as I have new information.
Any questions, please email me. Thanks and be well!
Here are the NEW EL3 and the physical forms you will need. The EL3 is newly updated for this year, so make sure you have this current one. Try to get them done as soon as you can.
