Broward County Public Schools is providing Naviance Student for all district students in grades 6-12 to help with college and career planning! This world-class system is designed to inform students, parents, and schools with:
- Researching careers, colleges, and majors
- Finding local and national scholarships and enrichment programs
- Exploring students’ career interests, learning styles, personality types, and multiple intelligences
- Building resumes and holistic portfolios for job and college applications
- Setting goals and developing personalized plans for success
- Requesting and sending transcripts. Access the Transcript Request Quick Guide.
- Learning about success skills, financial planning, self-discovery, and building a support network
Log on to Naviance StudentAll students in grades 6-12 in district schools have access to Naviance Student. Each school has it’s own website address. Choose your school from the dropdown menu below to locate the correct web address.:
Students will log in with their Single Sign On (SSO) account.
Parents can access their child’s Naviance Student account as a guest to view college and career information. Parents will need an access code to view their child's Naviance account. Access codes can be obtained from the School Counselor at your school.

What Can Naviance Student Do?

Research careers, colleges, and majors
Students will be able to search for and be matched with careers, majors, technical schools, colleges, and universities based upon self-selected criteria.
Colleges can be compared side-by-side to make informed decisions about admissions requirements, cost of attendance, programs of study, student activities, and more.
Students can take virtual tours of most schools, access admissions applications, and compare their own Core GPA and SAT/ACT scores to those of students in their school who have been accepted/denied from the colleges of interest. -
Find scholarships and enrichment programs
Students will be able to search for and be matched with both local and national scholarships based upon their own academic and demographic data.
The national Sallie Mae scholarship database is available within Naviance – Family Connection, providing access to over 3 million scholarships, worth more than $13 Billion.
BCPS will also add all local scholarships into the system so students can find and match with community-based opportunities. -
Explore your interests, styles, personality, and intelligences
Students can take a variety of research-based self-assessments to learn about their:

These results provide recommendations for applying this knowledge to improve study skills, relationships, college selection, and career choices. -
Build resumes and portfolios for job and college applications
Students are guided through the development of each section of a resume that can be printed and used for application to a job or school.
Videos, photos, or other digital documents can be stored in an electronic locker to remind students of accomplishments when completing applications. -
Set goals and develop personalized plans
Students can set academic, behavioral, career, or other goals, then develop a personalized program that outlines the steps to achieve each goal. Schools can also assign students to complete tasks and monitor completion of each activity.

Students will be able to request copies of their transcripts online and monitor the document’s submission by the high school.

Do What You Are® 2.0
The Do What You Are® assessment uses personality types to suggest careers and clusters that might be a good match for a student.
During the assessment, students can stop and save their progress. The results of the assessment provide students with a four-part personality type. Each of the four parts represents a personality trait that contributes to the student’s overall personality type. The results page has detailed information about the student’s personality type and potential careers and majors for the student to consider. This assessment is recommended for high school students (9th to 12th grade), but can be used effectively with 8th graders.

MI Advantage™ 2.0
The MI Advantage assessment uses Multiple Intelligences theory to reveal students’ intelligence strengths and challenges, and then provides suggestions on way to develop all their intelligences.
There are 72 questions in the assessment and students can stop and save their progress at any time. The results of MI Advantage include a strategies to boost intelligences with low and medium scores and school receive helpful insight and practical advice for instructional alternatives. The Learning Style Inventory™ 2.0
The Learning Style Inventory assessment allows students to boost academic potential by recognizing their natural learning style, discover better learning strategies, and gain career development skills. The assessment provides students with a report that can be used to increase understanding of the student’s needs at school.
The assessment takes approximately 20 minute to complete, and students can stop and save their progress at any time. The results of the assessment provide students with an analysis of their personal preferences in 16 different areas. This assessment is recommended for middle school and high school students (6th to 12th grade.)

Strengths Explorer
StrengthsExplorer® is a strengths assessment that assesses 10 talent themes for individuals and identifies each student’s three strongest emerging talents. Upon completion of StrengthsExplorer, students will be provided with explanations of their top three themes and will learn how to capitalize on their success and discover what they need to do next to continue building on their strengths.
Facts about StrengthsExplorer:
- The assessments contains 78 short questions and is recommended for grades 6-10.
- Students can only take StrengthsExplorer one time. Why?
- School staff cannot take the assessment on behalf of a student. (When school staff are ghosted into a student's Family Connection account, the start button will be greyed out.)
- Students cannot go back and change their answers.
- Student answers are automatically saved as they progress through the assessment.

Career Cluster Finder
The Career Cluster Finder is an online questionnaire that helps students discover career clusters that are most interesting to them. Once a student completes the Career Cluster Finder, top matching career clusters are made available for review. Students can re-take the cluster finder at any time.
The Career Cluster Finder is enabled when the Career Search is enabled for Family Connection.
Students can access the Career Cluster Finder by logging into Family Connection and going to Careers > Cluster Finder.
To re-take the Career Cluster Finder, students can click the Start-Over From the Beginning button.
Note: This assessment is recommended for middle school and high school students.

Career Interest Profiler
The Career Interest Profiler is an online career interest assessment for students based on Holland's interest codes. When students complete the Career Interest Profiler, their results will display their top Holland Code matches.
Facts about the Career Interest Profiler:
- There are 30 questions for each Holland code (Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional) for a total of 180 questions.
- The highest score possible in each area that you can receive is 30.
- The score received is based on the number of activities in each specific area that the student selected as an interest.
Students can access the Career Interest Profiler by logging into Family Connection and going to Careers > Career Interest Profiler or About Me > My Assessments
Note: This assessment is only recommended for high school students.
