All Are Welcome

  • Natural Disasters

  • Broward County Public Schools welcomes all students and families displaced due to recent natural disasters locally and abroad. District staff members are working with these families to ensure they receive the support and resources they need during this transition period.

The District has established a Welcome Center to provide centralized support for parents, guardians and others in the community who have questions about enrolling a student. The Welcome Center also provides immunizations and physicals, a clothing bank, food pantry and other family support services.

The Welcome Center is located at Lauderdale Manors Early Learning & Resource Center, 1400 NW 14th Court, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311. The hours of operation are:

    • Tuesdays, 8 - 11 a.m.
    • Thursdays, noon - 6 p.m.
    • Fridays, 9 a.m. - noon

    For more information, call 754-322-6650.

  • I just arrived in Broward County and I need to enroll my child(ren) in school. What do I do?

BCPS welcomes all students and families who have been impacted by recent natural disasters that occurred locally and abroad.

The first step for enrolling is to determine which school your child will be attending, which is based on the address where you are staying. Determine your school here. This will allow you to input your address and receive the appropriate school information.

If you don’t have access to the internet, call the District’s main number, 754-321-0000, and a switchboard operator can assist you in determining your school.

The next step is to visit the school to complete the enrollment process.  Please bring with you any records you have to assist the school in placing your child appropriately.

  • I don’t have any paperwork or school records. Do I need these to enroll my child?

No. BCPS understands that due to the circumstances of the natural disasters and displacement of families, parents may have incomplete records or no records at all for their child. School staff will work with parents to obtain as much information as possible to place the student appropriately.

  • My family just arrived in Broward County and we don’t have a temporary or permanent address. Can I still enroll my child in school?

Yes. BCPS has established a Welcoming Center to assist families displaced by one of the recent natural disasters. You can contact the Welcoming Center at 754-322-6650. You can also visit the Welcoming Center, located at Lauderdale Manors Early Learning & Resource Center, 1400 NW 14th Court, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311, for assistance in enrolling your child.
