    Creating Accessible Content

Accessibility refers to making web content perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust enough for all users. Websites should be designed to provide good user experiences whether viewed by abled users or by users with assistive technology like screen magnifiers and voice to text apps. Design that incorporates audio transcripts and closed captioning are essential to those with limited sight or hearing but also assist those with normal sight and hearing.  Using simple language, direct paths to content, and keyboard friendly design avoids confusion and welcomes all users to your site.

Accessibility is mandatory for all BCPS websites. The BCPS standard for accessibility is WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
