Community/Employee Recognition Programs
The District Community Relations team coordinates three programs that facilitate the community involvement of our internal and external stakeholders. The Caliber Awards and Community Involvement Awards are District recognition programs; Ed Talk is a community forum designed to discuss and prioritize educational strategies and next steps for the District. Visit the event websites listed below to learn more. Additionally, there are opportunities to get involved through advertising and sponsorships; see below for more information.
The Caliber Awards is an annual program recognizing and celebrating the District’s outstanding teachers, principals, assistant principals and school-related/District employees. With more than 30,000 employees, BCPS is proud of those individuals who have dedicated themselves to ensuring the future success of our more than 271,000 students. The District winners are announced at a gala, which is attended by more than 1,300 guests.
The Community Involvement Awards is an annual program recognizing the District’s outstanding volunteers, mentors, business partners and family engagement initiatives. With more than 800 attendees, the event celebrates individuals and organizations that give so much to our students and schools.
Ed Talk is an annual event, which engages members of the community in discussions focused on shaping the priorities of the District, as well as creating and maintaining a high-quality school system. This public forum is designed for Broward County stakeholders to collaborate with the District in improving the outcomes of all students. The more than 400 attendees represent business and community partners, parents, students and BCPS employees. The final report is disseminated electronically to stakeholders and featured on the District’s website.
