Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is committed to preparing students to be emotionally resilient and academically prepared for success in a global community. To ensure this and to be in compliance with the State Board of Education Rule 6A-1.094121, F.A.C., a minimum of five hours of required instruction related to mental and emotional health education is provided to every student in grades K-12 annually. The content areas to be taught are mental and emotional health, substance use and abuse prevention, internet safety and/or human trafficking, and character education.
