Best Practice Recommendations (Env. H&S)

Overview

• All department/division landing pages must include a brief description of the department/service/program (not more than 2-3 paragraphs).
• App Name should be displayed below any top-level page graphic to appear with descriptive text.
• This should be the top level item for each department/service/program (not Welcome, not Home, not the name of the department as the name of the department is at the top of the left-side column).
• This should be the first link in the left side navigation.

Graphics

• Use BCPS-approved graphics to ensure consistent branding
• Where available, use graphics or built-in Editor Styles to highlight important information
  
  • Use Alt-Text for all graphics / Include punctuation in highlighted Editor Styles to ensure intonation change by screen readers which may not pick up colors/shading.

Styling / App Selection

• The Accordion app can be used in the right sidebar to provide quick vertically displayed access to related information that needs to be presented in sequence.
