Curriculum
PLC teams use meaningful student data to determine and support the learning needs of students and educators. Key questions:
- What do we want all students to learn as a result of this unit?
- What are our students’ greatest needs based on the data?
- Which specific standards address these needs?
- How can we incorporate these standards into lesson plans?
- How can we effectively implement lessons?
-
Assessment
Based on the standards addressed in the team developed lesson, the PLC constructs common formative assessments (CFAs). Key questions:
- How will we determine student mastery? What does the data show?
- What specific assessment tools will we use to assess mastery?
- How often will we assess learning?
-
Remediation
Based on the standards addressed in the team developed lesson, the PLC constructs common formative assessments (CFAs). Key questions:
- How will we respond to students who do not meet mastery?
- What are the areas/standards that require remediation?
- How will we re-teach the standards to mastery?
- What specific strategies will we use to differentiate instruction?
-
Enrichment
Based on the results of the common formative assessments, PLC Members enrich their common lessons for students who meet or exceed mastery. Key questions:
- How will we respond when students need enrichment?
- What specific strategies will we use to differentiate instruction?
- What common projects can we develop to enrich the unit of study?
