CARE Cycle: Remediation

  • C.A.R.E. Remediation

    Based on the standards addressed by the team, the standards addressed in the team developed lesson, the PLC constructs common formative assessments. Key questions:

    • How will we respond to students who do not meet mastery?
    • What are the areas/standards that require remediation?
    • How will we re-teach the standards to mastery?
    • What specific strategies will we use to differentiate instruction?

     

    Adult Learning ADULT LEARNING

    Study and discuss strategies for remediation and ways to differentiate instruction for students who, for team-identified standards, have not yet mastered DOK Levels 3 or 4 and need remediation at DOK Levels 1 and 2.

     

    Student Learning STUDENT LEARNING

    Collaborate with colleagues to develop plans and strategies for remediation of the new learning individually, based on teacher and student needs.

    Research strategies for identifying and supporting students who need remediation toward mastery of standards identified by the team.
