AICE (Cambridge)

  • AICE (Cambridge) assessments will be given at school locations.  There is no option for at-home administration. Cambridge only provided alternatives to school based assessments, called non-exam options, when schools and districts were impacted by mandated closures or restrictions.  The State of Florida mandated that all Florida schools be open for in-person instruction in October of 2020.  Therefore, Broward County Public Schools does not fall into the category of not being able to sit for exams because of closure or restrictions.  Cambridge assessments will therefore occur as scheduled and at the school site for the June 2021 Series.

BCPS prioritizes each child’s safety by sanitizing, physical distancing, and requiring the wearing of masks during tests, on buses, and throughout the day.  As a district, we certainly recognize the challenges posed by our current environment, but we continue to partner with Cambridge and the school to navigate.

    1. Parents and students should have received school specific testing information for their student from the school by March 22, 2021.
    2. Schools will be prepared to safely administer the various Cambridge exams in April, May and June.
    3. The district will be providing transportation and food services for eligible students on testing days.
    4. Cambridge Exams are scheduled by Cambridge Assessment International.  The complete schedule of exams can be accessed at https://www.cambridgeinternational.org/Images/513554-june-2021-timetable-zone-2.pdf
    5. As of the date of this information, Cambridge Assessment International, does not allow for make-ups, therefore it is imperative that students are present if at all possible.

Cambridge recognizes the many different challenges in managing teaching, learning and assessment and have provided options for schools to help run exams in June 2021.  Options include:

    • Guidance to help teachers and candidates adapt to the current circumstances
    • Adjustments to how candidates are able to take the components
    • Exemptions for particular components
    • Special considerations for adverse or unexpected circumstances
