Marijuana Vaping Prevention & Education Webinar
WHEN: This webinar was scheduled for Thursday, December 9, 2021, from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
WHERE: Via Microsoft Teams. View the webinar video (the first 15 minutes are directions for accessing multilingual closed captioning) or read the transcripts of the event in English, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, and Spanish.
WHAT: This webinar provided important information about the harmful affects of e-cigarettes, details on how vaping is blurring the lines between tobacco and marijuana use, and the negative impact these dangerous trends have on youth brain development, academic success, and social engagement.
Parents, staff, and community members were invited to join an educational webinar on vaping prevention. The event featured Dr. Barry Hummel, Jr., FAAP and CEO of QuitDoc Foundation. It was sponsored by Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) and community partners.
WHO: The webinar was intended for adult participants and may be inappropriate for children.
